Duration

The demands of graduate programs vary widely based on the professions for which they prepare students; this course helps students familiarize themselves with the conventions of their specific field and learn to produce academic work that positions them as contributing members of that field. The course also prepares students to explain findings verbally and present solutions to problems in persuasive language. In addition, the course integrates frequent discussions and presentations to enable students to develop the capacity to engage in the academic and professional communication required for often extensive group work and group projects in graduate programs.
