Developing Listening Competence

International students are often faced with much more intensive listening requirements than they have previously experienced. In order to develop the listening strategies they need, students must learn to think metacognitively about their approach to listening. In this workshop, students learn about top-down and bottom-up processing and how to isolate and resolve specific listening problems they encounter.
