Center for Academic Success

Shorelight

Founded in 2013, Shorelight works with universities across the U.S. and abroad to create innovative programs that deliver comprehensive educational services to international students. Our platform connects international students, universities, and service providers to drive student enrollment and performance at scale. We support students throughout their entire educational journey to help them succeed and become exceptional leaders in a globally connected world.

Shorelight’s Center for Academic Success (CAS)

Shorelight’s Center for Academic Success (CAS) is a website that hosts free virtual tutoring and online resources, such as eLearning courses, webinars, and career services. CAS hosts a fast-growing number of state-of-the-art, interactive eLearning courses that are self-paced and custom-made for international students. The courses teach essential academic, sociocultural, personal development, and career skills. Learners who complete them receive a certificate completion.

CAS also provides on-demand access to live and recorded webinars hosted by CAS tutors and guests. Webinars are generally an hour in length and focus on a range of both essential and hot topics, such as research hacks, steps to professional networking, and even the proper use of artificial intelligence in the classroom.

Our Curriculum

Shorelight curriculum is designed by experts with many years of experience working in international education with non-native speakers of English and speakers of other English dialects. The content and delivery of the courses is tailored to engage international students, teach skills that will help them succeed in university-level study, address typical issues they experience in higher education, and provide intercultural insights to help them navigate a new educational and cultural environment.

This catalog provides a view of the online resources that Shorelight provides to support student success throughout the student lifecycle: from enrollment to academic study to career development. Course offerings also strengthen students’ competencies in areas ranging from academic integrity to writing skills to intercultural competence.
